By signing the breadcrumbs pledge, we commit to incorporating a paid directing mentee position on our sets. We believe the future of our art form depends on inclusion, mentorship, and collective responsibility to open doors for emerging directors. We will use our platform to make mentorship a standard so that more voices are heard in our industry and storytelling itself is strengthened.
IN PRACTICE, THIS MEANS I WILL:
Incorporate a position for a paid directing mentee on our sets, making mentorship a protected and intentional part of our work.
Create pathways for women and non-binary mentees to gain experience, credit, and visibility.
Demystify the realities of directing larger scale, commercial projects.
Normalize mentorship so that it is not an exception but a standard practice across film, television, and commercial productions, making it impossible for studios, production companies, and streamers to deny a director a mentee.
